ow you arrange the furniture in your bedroom can have an enormous impact on
the functionality, style, and comfort of the room.
The first thing you'll want to do is decide where
you want the bed to be located. After all, this is a bedroom, so the bed will be the primary focal point. Here's
some bedroom furniture arrangement ideas to get you started thinking:
Make sure that your placement allows for
free flow of traffic. You don't want to create any
unnecessary obstructions in the room.
Make sure you're not blocking any doors or closets. Don't be afraid to put the bed in a corner,
angled out into the center of the room. If you have enough space this can give the room a great
look.
Be sure you have the bed in a position where you can
avoid an uncomfortable draft from a window or air
conditioning register. Many homes today have second floor vents in the ceiling rather than the
floor.
Leave room for a night stand
on either side of the bed. Two night stands give the room more balance and provides a place for lamps, clocks, the
book you may be reading, and other accessories.
Once you have the bed positioned, you can focus your
bedroom furniture arrangement ideas on the rest of the items you'll need. That will depend on how much storage you
need, what other uses you may have for the room, and how much space you have.
Be sure dressers, vanities, and chests of drawers are arranged for convenience in storing your clothing. If you have
limited space, consider a taller chest rather than a wide dresser. If you need even more storage you may want
to consider a chest at the foot of the bed. There are also a variety of ways to have under bed storage,
including drawers that might hold extra blankets and so forth.
If you plan to have a television in the room, you'll
need to decide the TV placement for watching from the bed or
watching while dressing. If you have room for an armoire, it can be used to hide the television and may even offer
additional storage. You can also place the television on a chest, stand or a wall mount.
It isn't uncommon to have a small sitting area if you have the space with a couple of chairs or a small
couch. It offers a comfortable place to relax, have a conversation, read or watch the television.
You can pretty much arrange the room the way you'd
like so long as you spend some time planning, measuring, and making sure that you have space in the room for the
furniture and room to move around without feeling constricted. Regardless of what bedroom furniture arrangement
ideas you may have, you'll find that the bigger the bedroom is, the more comfortable it will be.
